San Antonio Spurs Demolish Clippers

The Clippers did not need to be reminded that they are no where near
the top teams in the NBA. However, San Antonio Spurs thought a gentle jolt might
be helpful in case the Clippers had forgotten. The Spurs defeated the Clippers
88-74 at the Staples Center.

This game was the Spurs ninth consecutive win and they led the game by 20 points
at one stage even though point guard Tony Parker was not playing because of
strained left hip. Spurs's Tim Duncan was also rather redundant. He scored just 9
points and had 12 rebounds. The 9 points were way below his average which is 20
point per game.

Clippers have not been able to do anything to defeat the Spurs. They have lost
last 12 games out of the 13 meetings they have had with the Spurs. In the latest
game, by the third quarter everything was over for the Clippers when the Spurs
had a 16-0 run. Manu Ginobili scored 11 of the points and this put the Spurs
60-40 with just 2:24 minutes left in the third quarter. The Clippers tried to
redeem face and they cut the margin to 64-49 as the fourth quarter started but
the 20 point deficit was too much for them to handle.

The Clippers shot 37.5 percent and the closed they got the Spurs was in the
fourth quarter when the score stood at 83-72. The Spurs have been very
impressive in the last nine games. The 14 point defeat they handed the Clippers
is the third closed any team has come to the Spurs in the last nine games.
